‘Crashing’ Book Links

Thanks to the Queensland Book Links folks who let me ‘crash’ (attend uninvited) their Book Links meeting last night and for teh scrumptious dinner … what a great meeting food first and then meeting time! Check out the Book Links website and see what they are up to. It was great meeting the folks and chatting about all things kids books up here in Queensland … and I also filled them in about my recent trip to Singapore for the AFCC. My attendance and chit chat made for a meeting that went just a little longer than normal … of course then we had to come back to Ipswich so it made for a rather long day for us.

And it was also delicious touching base with Narelle Oliver – who doesn’t have a blog – yet! Narelle created the absolutely wonderful book Fox and Fine feathers that is shortlisted for this year’s Children’s Book Awards.

  1. See, Chris, I am even posting a comment on your blog – you will soon have converted me from blog-sceptic to super-blogger! Seriously, it was fun to have you at the Book links meeting – I’m glad Jenny Stubbs asked you to crash it. I think we were all inspired and informed by your talk about the Singapore Lit Conference – it’s exciting to hear the developments in the industry there and in Hong Kong, and SE Asia generally.
Safe travelling for all your upcoming trips and look forward to hearing further news – I’m going to have to follow your blog, now.

  2. It was great to have you ‘crash’ our Book Links meeting Chris. You are welcome to do that anytime. As you would have realised our meetings are more like social gatherings than bring meetings…so many talented people who enjoy great food, good wine and a hearty laugh. Good Luck for all your future conferences. Come back to see us soon. Cheers
