And allow me to introduce (as if she needs any introduction), my lovely friend, SARAH FOSTER … the new Lady Cutler recipient! It is a thrill to be the Lady Cutler recipient and this was a glorious night … with so many past recipients present to celebrate Sarah’s award.

The award is presented annually to a NSW member of the Children’s Book Council and usually the first you know of receiving the award is a phone call from the branch president. It’s wonderful to know that you are nominated by other folks for this award. And Sarah also was presented with THE trophy to carefully guard for the next 12 months! Of course this celebration happened the night before I flew to Manila for the festival so I missed getting this up here – better late than never!! Hooray for Sarah Foster!
