Day 2 LA SCBWI Conference 2011

Here we go.
This will be a very short post as it is very late and I am very tired after a long day and a terrific 40th SCBWI celebration party – 40 winks worth.
a few pictorial highlights from day 2 …
Lin Oliver in conversation with Judy Blume (this was so wonderful hearing Judy speak).

some of the gathered throng

and this is a snap of the SBWI bookstall … and this weekend, we are told, this bookstall does the largest turnover of children’s books in North America.

and in that bookstall sat the sole remaining copy of Sounds Spooky … but not for long!

and then the birthday celebrations began. The theme this year — 40 winks (for the 40th birthday celebration of the SCBWI) and there were some very strange jim jams / pyjamas / pajamas / night attire on display! Don’t you just wish you were here where you see photos like this:

more dancing (of course I didn’t)

Congratulations Lin and Steve for your vision and for the buzz that you have given soooooo many of us for such a long time.
