So what do you do on the last full day of holidays? You continue having fun and continue enjoying the holidays and that is exactly what we did today. We came here with a list of places to go and things to do in New York City and we have gradually whittled them down to the last remaining activities including catching the cable car across to Roosevelt Island and take a bus ride around the island and then the cable car back to Manhattan! Been there. Done that. Another one crossed off the list. The cable car ride was quick but has a lovely view up the Hudson River, as well as lots of the Avenues. They look to go on forever from up in the cable car.

After cable carring it was time to walk the feet through the streets to museums like the beautiful building that is the Guggenheim and catch another glimpse of Central Park from the middle of the park and then catch the subway downtown (see got the lingo) to Books of Wonder. Well we were actually only going to catch the train to Grand Central and do the bookstore later this afternoon but we jumped on the wrong train. We were on the express train so out at Union Station we clambered and off to the bookstore we did stride, passing through another wonderful food market there. The vegies especially looked so spectacular and soooo very colourful.

More window shopping, then even more physical shopping and then for our last night it was dinner at Ruby Tuesday’s in TImes Square! … chicken and avocado flatbread, steamed chicken and coconut coated shrimp and cheese and garlic biscuits – Good USA fare! A quick spin around Times Square after dinner to catch more lights and glows and shinings and then back to the hotel to do last minute packing … we had to make sure that we had a bag being enough to carry home all of Bini’s booty!
