They are all over the state, the sub branches of the Children’s Book Council of Australia (NSW Branch) and now there is one developing in the inner west! I was thrilled to drop in at the inaugural Inner West Children’s Book Council of Australia meeting last week in one of the local drinking establishments at Marrickville. As the picture shows we even managed to snaffle three tables together which is no mean feat on a Thursday night.
‘Twas a bit noisy for planning and plotting conversations but we did manage to initiate discussion on how to establish a vibrant and enthusiastic branch. There was talk of activities and gatherings, workshops and programmes, functions and heaps of creative ideas so it will be a buzz to see it come together. Having been a past executive of the NSW CBCA I let others take on the roles but it will be great to attend and be part of the inner west gatherings!
