Well it was not quite Halloween on the Friday but it was the last school day before halloween so it was a real buzz to jump into Our Lady Queen of Peace Primary School to tell my spooky story – that’s Sounds Spooky of course, illustrated by the glorious Sarah Davis. I just love reciting the story, which is then followed by a showing of the pictures as well.
What is interesting now is that after Spooky had been out for a few years I am occasionally picked up saying the wrong word/phrase so now it is told with my little cheat sheet … otherwise I know I would fluff a line or two. And of course the penultimate page had the OLQP children jumping in surprise – just as it should! And there is the trailer too that people just love checking out!
And then much amazement – I was passing my local bookstore – Better Read than Dead – and I spied on display in the window all covered in the appropriate cobwebs a bundle of spooky titles – including Sounds Spooky! Terrific.
